IPL-LIMELIGHT PHOTO FACIAL
IPL-Limelight Photo Facial is a non-surgical skin rejuvenation that
uses high end light technology to improve the skin,
an effective treatment to remove sun damage, redness and pigment.
How does Limelight Photo Facial work?
With our xeo® Laser by Cutera, the IPL LimeLight Photo Facial treatments target hyper- pigmentation on the skin making it an excellent treatment to reduce sun damage, excessive redness and other unwanted pigmentation on the face. The various wavelengths of light are absorbed by melanin, hemoglobin and chromophores in the areas where you experience blemishes, sun damage and age spots.
How many treatments does it take to see results?
This depends on the type of pigmentation as well as the area. You will see visible results after just one treatment but typically we recommend a minimum of 3-6 treatments to see optimal results. Additional treatments may be recommended, especially for excessively sun-damaged skin.
How will my skin react?
After your treatment, the pigmentation on your face will begin to darken. Do not panic! This means the laser treatment has done its job and has successfully targeted the hyper- pigmentation of the effected area. Over the next couple of weeks, the now darkened spots will begin to flake off leaving you with reduced pigmentation and an improved skin tone. The skin may be slightly pink following the treatment and this tends to go away 1-2 hours after treatment.
Is the treatment permanent?
It is very important to protect your skin using an SPF everyday, even when not directly in the sun. After you receive the IPL Photo Facial treatment you can keep your skin glowing and free of sun damage by using an SPF of 30 or above on a regular basis. This will highly reduce your chances of sun damage reoccurring on the affected area.
Does it hurt?
Mild discomfort may be experienced with the IPL Photo Facial treatment. The treatment is delivered in laser pulses which are described by clients to feel like the snapping of an elastic band against your skin with heat. The snapping feeling is temporary during treatment, the hot sensation may persist for a few hours after treatment.
